About

Hi! I'm Jazmin, the founder, panadera and heart behind the one-woman bakery, Gozo.

I grew up in Arizona and spent most of my twenties in HawaiÊ»i, studying marine science and spending my days surfing, swimming, and freediving. I carried a deep homesickness that could only be eased by familiar flavors  that reminded me of home. I’ll never forget the feeling of walking into a local bakery and finding conchas on Sundays! A small taste of belonging so far from where I started.

Now I live in Chimacum, Washington, surrounded by the ocean, forests, and farmland. My connection to food and memory has become my anchor here.

Through Gozo, I experiment with flavor fusions and traditional Mexican bakes, blending memory with the local abundance of the Pacific Northwest.

This bakery has given me more than I could have imagined: connection, joy, and a sense of belonging in a new place. My hope is to share that feeling through my work, that gozo, or soulful joy that nourishes and liberates.
